State-of-the-art liquid waste disposal solutions for all types of liquid waste types

Liquid waste disposal is inevitable if you are in certain types of businesses, like manufacturing, chemicals, textiles, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and paper. However, in addition to industrial wastewater, liquid waste can also be generated by other means, like sanitary sewage, storm sewage, and mixed sewage. Wastewater and liquid waste are released from residential sources in the form of wastewater or "black water," which can have a high amount of pollutants, solvents, pesticides, and wash water. Liquid waste from industrial and commercial establishments has the potential to negatively impact public health, plant and marine life, and the local economy as well.

There are also increasing concerns over the liquid waste generated by households, known as grey water, which mostly contains wash water from kitchens and bathrooms. Liquid waste also poses serious problems by contaminating surface water and groundwater. As such, appropriate liquid waste disposal is critical to preventing serious implications for the lives of humans, animals, and the environment. A variety of liquid waste disposal methods are available. These include:

Dewatering: This method makes non-hazardous wastewater more suitable for disposal. Professional liquid waste disposal services use pumps to separate wastewater from solid wastes. Centrifugal dewatering and thickening process may be used by the liquid waste disposal service which flings solids from liquids and causes them to form a soft substance known as cake that can be disposed of in a landfill. The water receives filtration and treatment as deemed adequate. This method is used by Solo Resource Recovery’s professional liquid waste disposal services for non-hazardous liquid waste, such as sludge and slurry from the construction industry.

Sedimentation: This method is similar to dewatering; instead of centrifugal force, it uses gravity to separate water and solids from the waste. Liquid waste is left in a sedimentation basin. As the wastewater is flown slowly through the basin, solid suspended particles settle to the bottom in a layer of sludge. The solids are removed, leaving solid sediments which are sent to the landfill while the liquid waste is treated using adequate methods.

Incineration: This method of liquid waste disposal is primarily used for hazardous waste, such as chemicals and acids. The liquid waste is incinerated at about 850 degrees Celsius in a combustion chamber, and then heated to up to 1,150 degrees centigrade in a second combustion chamber. This process creates hot gases and ash residue which is disposed of in the landfill while the gas is released into the environment after treatment. In some incinerators, heat from the waste is used to generate electricity.

Composting: This method of liquid waste disposal involves the use of microbes for the decomposition of organic waste that contains nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium, and sodium which are very beneficial for the soil. Once the water is removed, the solids can be converted to compost while the water is reintroduced to the environment after treatment. Microbes present in the composting pit can metabolize solid organic wastes and reduce their volume by as much as half. This method of liquid waste disposal is extremely environmentally friendly.

Root zoning: This method of liquid waste disposal is used by Solo Resource Recovery for residential wastewater. Both biological and physical processes are used for treating wastewater in this method. Root zoning is relatively complicated and expensive but it recycles the water completely, making it safe to be released into the environment.
